Technical Safety BC is an independent organization that oversees the safe installation and operation of technical systems and equipment across BC. Along with issuing permits, licences, and certificates, they work with industry to reduce safety risks through assessment, education and outreach, enforcement, and research.
Technical Safety BC (previously BC Safety Authority) retained Thinking Driver to provide defensive driving theory and in-vehicle training for all their employees who drive a work vehicle.
This training has included:
- Defensive Driving Fundamentals & Attitudes classroom and eLearning
- Hazard Avoidance Training (in-vehicle)
- Winter Driving eLearning
- Safe Backing Fundamentals practical in-vehicle and eLearning
Technical Safety BC has achieved a 60% reduction in incident rates by using Thinking Driver courses. The savings were 3x the cost of the program implementation!
